As we approach the 5th Anniversary of 9/11, and the terrible reminders of all those who lost their lives on that devastating day in the United States,
I ask all of you to please display your countries Flag Proudly in memory of all those lost forever by a terrorist attack.

Let us never forget, It was not only Americans who lost their lives on that fateful day, but people from all countries,races and religions around the world were slaughtered also.

My memories are horrific of that day...You see, my son Joe was one of the Police Officers commissioned to the scene of the World Trade Center on that morning when the first Tower was hit.

The fright worry and anguish I experienced was beyond belief. My son called me at 8:55 am that morning and told me we were being attacked in N.Y.C. He instructed me to turn the TV on.. His conversation was brief... He said that he didn't know when he'd be able to contact me again, and that he had to go. However, his last words to me were
I Love you Mom , don't worry ...That was it, the phone went dead...Don't worry I thought?...how could I not! I was devastated!

I truly held my breath as I watched in horror as the 1st Tower went up in flames...My worry for my son was unbelievable, but the fear for my Country was just as great.
This was just so incomprehensible for me. This couldn't possibly happen here! Not here! Never in the United States!!! But it had...

On the 3rd day after the attack, I knew then and only then that I was one of the truly very lucky Mothers who's son came home ALIVE, So many didn't.
The sorrow for all those lost will never end or be forgotten.....The ease of living in an untouched Country was forever gone. My memories of once a safe and beautiful country were also lost forever.

So if I may ask Every individual from all over the world in this forum, please make it your duty to display your countries Flag on this fifth anniversary of My country's worst tragedy. But also, perhaps you can write a small tribute to their memory... We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms. Some may not agree with the Politics,but this isn't about Politics...It's about the people who went to work and boarded a plane one sunny morning on Sept 11,2001 and never came home.

Cherish the freedoms that you all have, and realize how very lucky you all are to be able to turn your PC's on to play a game...For you are truly Blessed.

Never Forget...

:( It is a time 2 remember and b proud of our nation. People like Sunny!s son risked their own lives as they worked frantically 2 help their fellow man. Even some of those trying 2 help lost their lives. We r a stronger nation. I am very proud 2 b an American and I thank people like Sunny!s son. My son was also stationed in New York when this tragedy happened and I know what she went through. I waited by the phone 4 hours 2 hear that he was ok. God Bless America. I wave my flag proudly!!

I lost a good friend who was in tower 1. At the time it happened, I was on the other side of the Hudson working in New Jersey. I could see the carnage from where I was, at the foot of the George Washington bridge. I was stuck in Jersey for 2 days and then the only way I was able to get home was by driving up to Rockland County and then crossing into Westchester. None of the lower hudson river tunnels were open. I remember driving up the Jersey turnpike the morning of Sept 12, listening to a classic rock station when the Hollies He ain't Heavy, He's my Brother came on. Made the hair on my arms stand up straight.

By the way, I stole my flag from Lisa :D

NOt sure what you're getting at there Star--but let's hope and pray that 9/11 is by ALL of us---FOREVER---but never forgotten..
Who needs another??
Who wants another??
One is/was more than enough..

Anybody believing any different would only be as sick as the perpetrators of the first.

We just don't need any more of that..

AMERICA!

Osama Bin Laden, your time is short;
We'd rather you die, than come to court.
Why are you hiding if it was in God's name?

You're just a punk with a turban; a pathetic shame.

I have a question, about your theory and laws;
How come you never die for the cause?

Is it because you're a coward who counts on others?
Well, here in America, we stand by our brothers.

As is usual, you failed in your mission;
If you expected pure chaos, you can keep on wishing
Americans are now focused and stronger than ever;
Your death has become our next endeavor.

What you tried to kill, doesn't live in our walls;
It's not in buildings or shopping malls.
If all of our structures came crashing down;
It would still be there, safe and sound.

Because pride and courage can't be destroyed;
Even if the towers leave a deep void.

We'll band together and fill the holes
We'll bury our dead and bless their souls.

But then our energy will focus on you;
And you'll feel the wrath of the
Red, White and Blue.

So slither and hide like a snake in the grass;
Because America's coming to kick your ass!!! :lol:

COUNT ON IT! :wink:
