Whatever happened to TreadMarks 2? That TreadMarks with the moving tank treads and the other improvements? Will we ever be allowed to play around with what was done? Kind of random, just curious though.

For the time being, I have no information on Tread Marks 2.

For right now, Hegemony - Philip of Macedon is being developed.

Hey GA,

It seems that enhancements over and above TM 1.6 have been shelved and the gamebox rip-off version is in an unknown state (at least haven't heard an update from Jim lately) Metal-shell. They changed their web site after Matrix ripped into them.

Here is the home site [url]http://www.tantalus.com.au/home.htm</a>

I found a video from a screen someone took here .

Hedgemony seems to be LDA's big push right now.

From what I have audited on the board, moving TM into DirectX is the big hurdle, I think. Please, anyone with better understanding, chime in.

well, when I worked for Hyperion, I ported a DirectX based engine (LithTech based Shogo:MAD) to OpenGL when we ported it to the Amiga. Converting OpenGL to DirectX is easier than the other way around (Direct3D uses an OpenGL like construct for lowlevel direct primatives rendering). However, it will not take advantage of any of the new features that the modern games use. In order to use the modern features (Hardware T&L, poly setup, texel programs, etc) , the engine would need to be rewritten from the ground up.

You should have seen the screen for screen comparison that Matrix did using their original site.

The phrase Scum thieving conniving liing cheating bottome feeding pond scum came to mind.

Hey, for any of you UK folks, if you come into contact with Matrix, send him regards!.

I miss his rhetoric.. Keen wit... Rants... Awake mind..

Did something for Matrix a while ago and lost contact. I had to get Coaxs to email him and then got back in contact. He seems to have forgotten me again. So I may have to ask Coaxs to nab his attention back (again  ).

I would prefer something more than just a graphics upgrade in the new TM2. We have all assembled the laundry lists on other threads. Some more drama, a bigger mission, a deeper story or something.

Zeesh, I must be getting older or something.....
