Maybe try using sprites for sand, or a combination...

If it was sprite based, wouldn't it become very laggy?

I have an idea, have a sphere with a sand texture on it. That could recreate it.

Mesh ent types would make great sheilds.
set the mass line to 0 and a tank can go through them, but projectiles can't.

Wow, thats brilliant....
You could also tell it to absorb inertia, so that way the shield will travel with the tank if the tanks moving! Very cool idea. 2nd & dennis.

I've never heared of that. But I'd guess It'd be something like absorb inertia = 1

or summat = 1 anyways...
