It will be a different server. I'll probably call it "LDA Greenery", or "LDA Crowd Favourites" (although I'm secretly harbouring the desire to name it "LDA: Eat Your Greens").

Then why are we having this discussion about the LDA server? Anyone with the bandwith could create it and have no one on it just as easily.

Good question. The whole idea was to improve the map rotation on the regular LDA server that everyone goes to...

I would agree with the dislike of the psycadelic(spelling?) maps except I sort of like spew...

Please remember this is a suggestion from players that actually play at LDA server...
The whole purpose of this map rotation is to make it more fun for everyone... if anyone would play as much as we do, eventually they'll get into this conclusion... some maps are just not fun.

Do you really want another server for the stock maps? that wouldn't be a good choice. Players just may migrate to a better stock server....

Hey I do play often, I would play more but there just are never any people round!

For some reason I find playing AI's preferable to playing no-one online! :x

Lots of people show up almost every evening (eastern US time).

Okay, okay. I'll modify the "LDA" server to have this map rotation (the file names are for my reference):
[code:1:0322db579a]Banks Jim8A.ved
Gravitor JimHeavy.ved
Headland Jim10.ved
Hell Crossing Jim4L.ved
Mosquito Jim1L.ved
Caldera DMCaldera.ved
Not the Goat Jim8.ved
Pinnacle Jim3L.ved
Scarab Jim7A.ved
Barren Lake Jim6T.ved
Simian Isle Jim5.ved
Glacier DMIce.ved
The Ramp Jim2L.ved
Windchill JimT3.ved
The Steppes DM1.ved
Desert Divas JimS4.ved
Bull Jim7.ved
Cone DMCone.ved
Caldera DMCaldera.ved
Woodland DM7F.ved
Kahuna JimT4.ved
Black Mesa DMSteps.ved
Green Monster DM2.ved
Armageddon JimArmaged.ved
The Ramp Jim2L.ved[/code:1:0322db579a]
The Ramp and Caldera are included twice, and Glacier and Armageddon are included, but they're as far apart as possible, and always followed by The Ramp.

I'll set this up tomorrow if nobody objects.

Nice list, I had completely forgot about windchill.
Some of the extreme maps are a bit annoying afet a while - like spikey(is that what it's called?)

Thank you Rick! :D

Won't be ready for tonight. I'm setting it up tomorrow, just to give time for everyone to comment.

Thanks much Rick.

It's no big deal. But I'm curious: Why have The Ramp and Caldera in there twice?

Mostly because of this post.

If there's not an overwhelming demand to give "statistical preference" to those maps, I can only include them once, and put Caldera after one of the less-liked maps.

I particularly like the two less likely maps together so only the braves stay back to back

Ahhh... I understand now. Yugo is a respectable chap. But it seems that mass appeal would suggest not putting them in twice.

And Pablito is a... chap as well. ;) But to put the two least popular maps together is also a special interest IMO.

But whatever happens on those two counts I will not complain. I'm quite enthused that this didn't turn into a heated debate. Thank you Rick for implementing our choices.

... special interest would be having a nuke on top of a hill and see nemeses down below
... that was more like a comment... :P

I myself would prefer to have those maps weighted 2wice as much as the others, since they are 2 of my favorites. But, to be fair to everyone it should all be weighted equally.

Fair enough, I'll only include each map once. I'll get working on that now.

Hmm, this would be a good time maybe to reask for what I should be putting for cfg names in my server setups? There are maps I would load but don't get the names right in my cfg.

By the way, I added a stock server and have moved Dinochrome to a level 2 provider. The equipment is sitting on a transitional firewall but I think it's running ok.

Enjoy.
