Hopefully we can all agree that the random map rotation is wearing thin. It seems I've seen certain maps over and over and others rarely. Can we set it up as a linear rotation?

If that's all I can get at least that's something. But if we can nix some of the ultra hilly maps then I will personally payoff the person that makes it happen. Ribs, The Rack, Armageddon and the like are real PITAs.

If you don't have the map names memorized you can see them here..

Yeah, Ribs was last night just after another bumpy, brown map and yet another bumpy, brown map followed immediately.

Where are the green maps!

It would be nice to see an effort put into laying out some sort of map rotation that equalizes what map is used. I do not care much for the really hilly maps myself but enjoy the more gently rolling maps where you can get into and stay in the battle easier. Can we get some more of that kind of map rotation in place and put to rest the more spikey and extremely hilly maps for a while. Just my 2 cents on the subject.

While I tolerate a lot, I frequently sigh at some of these maps. I am agreement with all of the above.

I find it hard to have fun at times playing while always looking at the sun.

Besides, some simple leave when some of these maps come on. Discouraging people to play doesn't seem right even though variety is the ... well you know.

I would tend to agree...the brown maps, well, need to be "flushed"!
Let's be environmentally friendly and "go green"!!

I believe last request to this request is a list for map rotation.
...it might be easier to send the list to Mr. LDA and he would change the rotation... why reminding people this for...?
Please don't ask me to link last request
But if Mr. LDA can read this... the list can be set up fairly easy...:
Please take any maps out with more mountains than spawn points, please (if possible) reduce the number of shadows... (5 in one game!?)...
THANK YOU!
Ice world ok... but perhaps the only ice map needed.....?

Well, we can add a "green" server. What maps would you guys like? (Just go into the Tread Marks/Maps folder and look at the screen shots and give us the file names.)

My 2c, (Cdn)

DM1, DM2, DMIce, DMSteps (steppes?), Jim1L, Jim3L, Jim7, Jim7a, Jim7f, Jim8,mJim10, JimIce, JimT4.

Couple of the big green CTF's would be good as well, but I never saw them in the choices.
Like I said--just my $.02--

I think you got the right idea Teulk. Let's post our favorites and see if we can come up with a collaborative list. Maybe you could translate your list from the map file names to the given names. As I mentioned above, you can see the maps and their names here:

My list of faves: I'm listing them as they appear left to right and down the map preview page.

Banks
Headland
Hell Crossing
Mosquito
Not the Goat
Pinnacle
Scarab
The Steppes
Desert Divas
Bull
Cone
Black Mesa

Not good choices in lists provided so far:
Cone
Armegeddon
Unless you want to play CTF then CTF Red Oval also

Not good for multiplayer or too restrictive to get into the fight readily if dropped down at the edge of the game field.

I disagree about Cone. We had an EXCELLENT fragfest on there two nights ago. It was the best map that entire night - the same night we had 3 bump-galore maps in a row.

I'm betting we can get Sailor to acquiesce on Cone. But if not then I'm more than willing to let it go if doing so leads to agreement. But really RC... Armageddon? As you say: gah! :)

Seriously though, please compromise with us on that and CTF. CTF just isn't practical on a DDM server. And Armageddon is disliked by a multitude. I'll gladly give up a map or two from my list or acquiesce to others I don't like. So I don't ask anything that I'm not prepared to give myself.

OK... compromising is the word of today... I was going with CTF oval because is a fun map... but if no one else likes it (for battling) then:

Banks
Headland
Hell Crossing
Mosquito
Not the Goat
Pinnacle
Scarab
The Steppes
Desert Divas
Bull
Cone
Black Mesa
Caldera
Kahuna, the ramp or Barren Lake
Armegeddon! = ? = eww? but if this depends on RC sticking around then...

Barren Lake and The Ramp aren't my faves but they're OK. Kahuna has too much friggin water. But I'll deal with it if I have too. I'll buy that last list if others will. It certainly is an improvement over the current list.

I'm not saying the topic is settled. I'm sure we can add more. I'm just looking for as little bloodshed as possible. :)

Played on Simian Isle today. Nice map. We can add that.

As for Armegeddon, it isn't needed unless we make every nuke detonation spawn one you can pick up :D
