when you get far northwest of map in illyrian country, how are you supposed to use the mines there? there are not near enough nodes on the few citys there. there are no bases or whatever they are called to connect them to either. are we supposed to connect them to citys much farther inland that has more nodes? i just don't see how they can be used.

also, how are we supposed to get slaves there because there are no watchtowers. i own the land but the land is still dark.

if i download the new beta version with sheep or whatever, will i still be able to use my save games? will it automatically fix itself on steam because that is where i bought it?

The northwest is designed to provide different challenges than other areas of the map.

Yes, the mines will need much longer connections to forts or cities to be of use. The trade routes will also be longer and more vulnerable to disruption.

You can group slaves with a combat unit to escort them through the darkened areas. That way they will stay together and not revolt.

The sheep update will be added to Steam after a bit more testing.

Rob or Rick will have to confirm this, but in the meantime, it shouldn't cause a problem if you overwrite the Steam install with the upgrade. Rob? Rick?

I would install it elsewhere instead of in your Steam directory, just so you don't interfere with Steam's own updates, but other than that everything should work fine. Steam should already have registered your game, so the beta will automatically be unlocked. And yes, your saved games will still work.

hy gibstone

there is no need to take this mine
just conquer them - its only for the assignment
you will have this mine-supply-line-problem in the middle to
here are many mines but the citys around have not enough
nodes to connect all mines
you can choose to connect with far citys but i dont think
thats is the point ^^
e.g. Pella got 16 nodes but there arent enough things
around to connect with - otherwise i got plenty of city around larissa
and there i got problems because i wanne connect them each other
plus i wanne connect them to mines and farms
it is a little bit tricky

and like LDAjim said - group your slaves with army units
(take melee, no cav nor range because of the speed)
