AMD Athlon II x2 250 processor at 3.0 ghz
4.0 gb RAM
64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1
ATI Radeon HD 4600
AMD High Def Audio

Attempted to download and install demo, really, really planning to purchase. Install had an error, but finished, uninstalled and reinstalled. No problems. Launched game, got splash screen, got main menu, clicked “play”. Crashed to desktop with popup box “error caching music segment” .

This most often happens when you cancel the installer while it's decompressing sounds.

If for whatever reason the installer didn't decompress the sounds properly, you can get the game to do it on first run by creating the following folder:

C:\ProgramData\Longbow Digital Arts\Hegemony Gold

(This is the folder on Windows Vista/7; it's a different folder on Windows XP. You might need to show hidden files to see the ProgramData folder. Instructions on how to do that are here.)

Once that folder is created, run the game as administrator by right-clicking on the game icon and choosing 'Run as Administrator'. When the game runs, it should decompress all your sounds. You won't have to run as administrator once this is done.
