LOL

It's been like 2 years since I stopped playing this game. Probably because the servers lagged insainly much, that and I can't get my copy to work anymore.

Also, wheres the mods page? I remember their being one with like all of them?

Well firstly... make sure you are using TM 1.6, since that is the latest version. Also, for all your modification needs, just run over to http://treadmarks.vorklift.com and download to your happiness. I think I answered everything... come back and let me know if there's anything else!

There are some people like me that are much into this game.
This is nor only a classic but has a distinct persona.
It is very sad the condition on which it stands though.
I still believe there has to be a company that would take this game into the multiplayer arena (whether is playstation, Xbox or anything)...
Everytime I go to the mall or record exchange* (local store for trade used movies or games)... I look for multiplayer games and most of them SUCK!...
I think as resources run low, and options are taken away... UT or whatever other game could substitute multiplaying time :(
Unless there is a push for keeping the game alive. I know at least 10 players that would keep playing this game, even if it just a virtual LAN... as long as TM is active; some players will be too...

I just find it blankity blank hard to keep playing ANY game. Right now, I really only play two games big time: Burnout 3 and Tread Marks. I've played soldat off and on as well as Guild Wars.... but now a-days I can only choose a max of two games to play at once. I just have too much to do with college and my neuroscience lab internship... not to mention my music composition and sketching habits. I guess it would get more of my time if there were more people playing online. Really, I don't play online because it seems not many are interested in the mods I enjoy. I don't blame them... I'm just sorta outcast since I really only like to goof off. It's true of most games I play :-(

Hi Sage, LTNS; the server quality has gone up considerably over the last couple of years but those on dial, been hacked from cruising porn sites and worlds away from a server will always have problems.

Of late the master server went down on Friday night and I swear you would have though LDA had gone out of business and packed it in.

They made a bunch of changes and have had LDA server stability issues but that is supposed to change.

Welcome back.

Hahaha,

Yeah this game is a great game, I mean with all the mods and maps. It should last you a couple of years. I guess I just got tired after all the same old same old.

You what though, theirs still hope. I mean imagine this thing on X360(yes I'm a xbox fan boy, lol) With download able content. Ppl could make the mods on there computers and put them on there consoles for people to d/l. I think LDA should try again w/ the console thing. It would be great for the company.
And Microsoft is always looking for a way to make a buck, lol.

Tm is an awsome game and love to see it go to a Gaming system like Xbox 360 or PS3 and put the creators of metal shell in their right place.

Oh... forgot to tell ya'll... I stopped playing online since I'm back home on a high ping connection. I'll be back next month when college gets underway again. PRolly not as often, but at least three times a week.

Now... that said... I think only a couple times have I actually seen anyone on and connected. Most of the time I've just done zany, insanely one sided dirtball matches with the AI teams. Those just never get old... esp. on the armeggeddon map (if I spelled that right... I really don't care, tho)

:D As a old man with the kid still alive in me {"thank god"} I find TM one of the most facinating, challenging, highy competitived, games I ever palyed. When one looks at the era I grew up in much was left to ones imagination.Old "B" sci-fi movies gave us a glimpes or a peek at what could be, of course with no input, just your imagination.
WWII was just off the horizon after I was born, a mordern war with as many new machines, such as fast fighter aircraft, subs, a/craft carriers, and of course tanks the iron horses of the battle filed. They where always shown in "movie tone" news clips in theaters.I was to young at the time to understand all this, but can recalled some of the action from newspapers. than later as tv came about there where many flims news clips shown...... the mighty field tanks such as the German Tiger was truly a magnificent site to see in action. Wacthing Patton's 3rd Army roll accross Europe was very impressive. The tank on the battlefild was the the kings knights.
So TM gives one the feel of such a ferocious {all though vulnerable} metal beast that can wipe out another tank with one well place cannon shot or destroy a building, climb over the rubble and still engaging the enemy.
TM with it's simplicty yet it's ability, to give one the contoll over his or her's fate on the field of battle with all the moves a tank commander has at his hand.
Who can not be facinated by a tank unleashing a volly of rockets such as the Russian T-80's or the American Sherman plowing through the hedgerows of France. Not to be left out Amreica's awsome M-1A that owned the battle field, or Rommel's fear Afika Corps.
Last but not least the "sounds of fearsome weapons"...TM is truly a game for all ages.....my hats off to the late {GRHS} developer, who ranks with the best, for his vived brillant imagination.... he stands with Jewles Vern and all who can give there imagination to the world to enjoy...
Shame... Lonbow cannot see this......Long live TM and it's players!

don't forget remembering where the nuke was dropped, watching out for charlie all around, checking how much ammo you have left, positioning for next attack, finding the best spawn point near and taking care of your tank

To make it sound even more weird i was living in Washington state at the time. man i feel old. :?

I started up during the Beta in 1999, around September or maybe October. I played the Beta until the demo came out, then played the demo until the real game came out. Then played the real game until the new beta for 1.5 came out. Then got employed by LDA for a few months supporting the forums, got the new version 1.5, and I've been playing it ever since.
