these might prove useful to someone...
just some topics i wrote about dealing with treadmarks.

 information dealing with and concerning mods, aka TM AddOns

 how to go about taking in game screenshots while playing TM

 how to update or install ASPI, and downloads

 info, usage, and downloads for zip unzip programs

 enabling file extensions in windows, all versions

 virtual cdrom drive program useful for playing TM locally, on your computer, without using the cd. this program saved my bacon... i played TM v1.0.1 so much that my original cd literally cracked inside of my cdrom drive. but i had made a backup of the cd so i was able to recover.

Rick I am new to the game, and have a small idea of how to set up the treadmarks folder. Where do you put the addons folder, and how do you set it up? There are a few mods on my computer I can't see, and I can't use any of the tanks.

treadmarks can be placed pretty much where ever you like, so....

1) find the folder with this file: TM.exe
2) that is the folder where the "AddOns" folders belongs.

and that's it.

just be careful not to have a 2nd addons folder inside of the main addons folder. mods inside of the 2nd adddons folder will be ignored.

that is prolly why his d/l tanks don't work, they prolly got un-zipped to the addons folder instead of the main folder.

Windows prevents you from having multiple folders of the same name in the same place :D

Wait, are the tanks downloaded suppose to go to the main folder? What downloaded files are kept in the addons folder, then, just entities. I've been screwing around with my treadmarks folder, and now I need to reinstall it, if only I had known all this from the beginning.

No no, new tanks do go in the Addons folder. Just make sure you're putting them in Tread Marks/Addons and not Tread Marks/Addons/Addons.
