Are you using Win7? If so, what are your firewall settings for Win7's firewall?
Also: Looking into MintLinuxLinux Mint 9 (which is a distro based on Ubuntu and Debian). Need to figure out why my wireless card is only occasionally working in that OS, and only in Ad-Hoc mode, with the wrong set of IP ranges. When it connects at all. Since I'm currently USING said card (Realtek RTL8191SE-VA2) with no issues in Win7, it isn't the card, and even upgrading the kernel drivers to the now-current one for the RTL8192 doesn't help.
