Greetings all! How is everything in TM land?

I got the itch recently to play a bit and had forgotten how much fun it was, heh.

With any luck I'm going to try and log on here and there and get back into the swing of things.

So what's been going on lately? Anything interesting?

Nothing much new with me accept I get slower with time, LOL. I guess I will have to get out that racing mod of yours that I packaged up and install it for old times sake. That was a fun mod. :) :) :)

hehe, nice to see some familiar faces. Could someone toss me a link to where the Storm Pack can be downloaded at? I had multiple hard drive failures a while back and lost ALL of my Storm Racer source files and everything. Made me quite sad. I still have it installed in an old sloppy addons folder, but that's it.

Welcome back dood!

I still need to finish my HD Pack v2.0 ...

now that we have 1GB video cards, I'm thinking some big ass textures and high poly models are called for. :)

Unfortunatly, High poly counts hose Treadmarks. IIRC the largest model I was able to bring in was 15,000 polys. It took 5 mins to TM to load, and then crashed not to long after.

heh, yeah, I remember that. TM itself bogs out if you get too many high polly models in there.

I was looking thru the storm pack file that I downloaded and realized that it was the beta release download, wow is the readme info in there ugly and sloppy. Forgot that I never managed to release the final version. Still ticks me off that I had those hard drives die on me...

Those files are embarrassing, lol.

Don't know if it is the same version that BZP gave you the link to or not: http://treadmarks.vorklift.com/tm_download.php?id=34&mid=351

Not sure if the versions you are getting are all zip files, but I still have the packaged version that I made into a .exe file for the last full version that I could get my hands on when I made it. If you want it I can upload it to RC's site or wherever someone wants to host it.

Yeah, my site is a pain to manage nowdays. I need to badly go back and rebuild it from scratch, complete with a management interface. Right now I have to do everything directly from the database, which makes me not want to do it :).

Good to see you RC. Now would be a good time to start redoing your site since it seems some people are still interested in this great old game of TreadMarks!! I for one have always liked your site as well as others that provided access to the mods for this game and I know several others that do also. So get busy and make life easier for yourself and give us a good site to keep everything together in one place. If you do I might even make a new map with some of the added features that Killer added to TMapper2 - I think I still know how - LOL - no really I do!!!

LOL!

TMapper 2 is Dreamer's original TMapper with the following:

- recompiled to run of the newer JVMs, and newer Java OpenGL
- tons of bug fixes
- easier racemap building
- forest tool to add a bunch of trees in one go
- mesh objects are loaded and shown on the map (instead of just being a sphere)
- more keyboard shortcuts
- configurable 3d view
- 3d view has a pair of pan sliders, in addition to the flip/rotate/zoom sliders
- more documentation
- some usability fixes (improved save status bar and popup window to let you know it finished saving the map).
- JVM tuning for better performance

And more
