Hey everyone. I'd played DX-Ball 2 a long time ago, and I remember downloading this music pack. While the DX-Ball 2 section says you can still download it here, I can't seem to find it anywhere on the downloads page. Did it get taken down for some reason, or am I just not looking hard enough? Is it included in the shareware .exe? (That would explain a lot...)

Thanks in advance!

No. I examined the contents of the demo installer and they did include it.

Yes, the all the music is now included in the one installer; I just forgot to remove the notice from the DX-Ball 2 page. Sorry about the confusion, I'll go fix it now >:)

I can't use DX-Ball 2 sounds anymore, I can't use wave's.

How do I either use sounds or wav's.

I'm not sure what you're asking.

I have DXBall2 with all 15 boards from 2001.

I started using AMD 64 (dual core cpu) with XP Home SP3.

Now, I can't get sounds.
Error
Couldn't init sound!

I have DX-Ball 2 Demo, It works. How do I use DXBall2 with all 15 boards?

Have you tried downloading the latest copy of DX-Ball 2 from our Downlad Centre with your download key?

We did make some bug fixes a while back, so the demo you're using could possibly be newer than the full version you've installed.

I no longer have a download key. or don't know how to find a download key.

Does it be in installation?

Sorry, I can't find an order under John Wight, but I do have a few orders for DX-Ball 2 from Fort Worth near the date in your install log. Is it possible you made the order under a different name? Possibly a friend or family member? Also, if you don't remember your email address at the time, I can look up multiple email addresses; even just letting me know what your Internet Service Provider at the time was would help me find your order.

I also have to remind you that everything you post on these forums is public, so if you need to give me any private information, it would be better to do that via email or the private messaging feature of these forums. You can find email and PM buttons below my post.

HI Rick, thanks again for helping me retrieve my games a while back. I have a question, are the music files in DX Ball2 and Rivalball MOVs or something else? Can they be used as a ringtone, or would that be copyright infringement? There is 1 song in Rivalball that I really like and would like it on my phone right alongside Crazy Train.

I would like to add that this is the only site that has someone, ( Rick ), that seems to really care about us LDA gamers even if it has been a few years and tries to help.

Thanks,
Richard

The music is all in the 'Mods' folder in mod format, which is a pretty rare format, so I doubt your phone supports it. The easiest way I've found to convert it to something usable is with WinAmp. WinAmp is normally just a music player, but if you go to Options->Preferences->Plug-ins->Output, select "Nullsoft Disk Writer", and click 'Configure' to set your options, WinAmp will output the song to a music file instead of to your speakers. WinAmp can output to .wav (aka 'PCM') or .mp3, and your phone can probably support one of those.

As far as intellectual property goes, we don't mind if you use the songs as a ringtone on your phone (actually, that's really cool!), we just ask that you don't redistribute them.

you know how to access the game's directory on the hard drive ? the easiest way would be to right-click the game's shortcut, select "Properties", and then click "Open File Location"

this will open the respective folder in a new window, where you should find a subdirectory named "Mods"

just toss your .mod, .xm or .s3m files in here, and there you go

It should be noted, though, that MODs are instrument-based files, like MIDIs, so your MP3s are not going to work here.
