Generally just the F/X sounds also. Less ambient noise = harder to be snuck up on :)

Back on topic, I suppose: this is my current Tread Marks playlist. I always set it to random selection in WinAmp so it does not grow stale.

I agree with Gman- air strikes and playing music in game make for a bad combination. It does, however, lend a bit of fun anticipation to the playing when air strikes come with no warning. <grin> I recall attempting to just play classical music during game play in order to allow for the game sounds to also come through as well, but it was just too jarring. The 1812 Overture and Beethoven's 9th do have a certain appeal, though, for TM games. ;)

EDIT: I have to admit that John Lee Hooker's Boom Boom (out go the lights) has come up more than once with the chorus timed perfectly on a kill in a TM game. Always makes me laugh. It fits so very well.

I know what you mean. The music feeds one part of the mind while another part studies / reads / whatever. It works for me that way too.

As for the arcade, we didn't need to jimmy anythng, the coin foreman was in love with my buddy's girlfriend who was about five foot four and always wore Dolphins shorts (dating myself here) really well with a crop top that show just how firm....

I could never mix music and another activity unless it didn't require full attention such as driving or having s.x :)

Listening to well composed pieces, specially classical, takes all my attention spam... I can't read 2 books at once :(

Wow AFG, what a list. I do listen to some music (new age or jazz) while playing in single game mode (ie. ctf) with some mods. I put sound volume at 10. Adjust accordingly. I have done it on-line but rarely and only for fun.

I play the US AIR FORCE song OFF WE GO INTO THE WILD BLUE YONDER AND shout GIVE EM THE GUN BOYS :D

Once in a while I play HAIL TO THE CHIEF ! :shock:
