how to remove arrow and radar?
so is that possible?

anyway glad TM forum is up again.
been playing this game since 2000 lol!

You should be able to change the radar by editing the sabot.ent file in the entities/tankgod directory.

You may need to add ServerSynch = 0 to make it not sync from the server.

I can't find anywhere to alter the arrow position, though you can make a different mesh for it and stick that in the meshes directory.

that arrow and radar makes the game so predictable
imo or i'm just so tired of it telling me where to go LOL!

how about weapon stay?
is there an .ent i can edit to make the dropped
weapons vanish after 1 min or so.
the game gets way too many weapons lying all over the
place after some time.

Wow, all the little things, mods are ment for so much more XD, I'd asume you could just change the arrows blend mode and give it an all black texture...

well no luck on the meshes of whatsoever.

black texture on arrow? hehe i don't think i need a more visible color to it.

my tm ents are set up very light on the eye btw.
those explosions are nice but they get kinda stressful on the eye after awhile reason i made some editing to some of it.

anyway hope someone can crack the radar and arrow thing.

1 weapons cannot be made to disappear when dropped

2 the radar is controlled by the Mini-Map parameters in the entities/tankgod/sabot.ent file, this file must always be synched with the server. if you disable sync, things can get weird in multiplayer mode.

3 the arrow is objects/WaypointArrow3.lwo. if you remove the WaypointArrow3.luv file, and replace the WaypointArrow3.lwo file with one that is a super tiny triangle. It would be invisible. This would affect both single player and multiplayer modes. There is no ent file for it afaik.

Thanks Killer, please don't give the code for no flames or long ranger ememy finding lol.
I'm always up for deformation of ents if they become FUN... if it just becomes obsolete or too easy, I rely on default settings ;)
Interesting idea genmac, and welcome to TM. I guess I still prefer the radar and arrow (when I'm under heavy attack and lost :)

No flames is easy. You just replace the artwork used with something transparent, though I think flames are .img files which requires special software which very few people have access to.

I still have that tool somewhere. I used it to make the morphing gfx for my SAM weapon mod.

I have no idea where it is though. LOL

I think Matrix originally started passing it around; it had to be controlled to it's ability to mess with DXBall, and LDA not wanting it used with DXBall as a result.

Black textures become invisible with the right blend mode, I forget which one because I havent played or modded TM in months.

RC- I've never had a problem oppening Img files, I use paint shop pro 7, and used to use 5. ;)

2ndself: IMG files are a combination of multiple BMPs with extra header info. I use PSP also, but IMG refers to a different file type and even when forcing it to the BMP type, it can't open TM IMG files because it is a custom format.

What settings are you using?

ah i get it 2ndself. will try that. i did edited some
bmp files in the pass so flames and explosions are more lighter on the eye.

btw - i really don't play multiplayer bec. of my shitty connection lol so it's ok if ever i get rid of the radar and arrow for a change.

WOAH! finally got the radar removed lot of tnx to Ramdom Chaos.
at first i just copy pasted the one you posted me bad forgot
about making the settings to 0 for it to work hehe.

now i think i do need the arrow acting like my navigator
just like in real tank squads, i think hehe.

Ya, I guess it would kind of suck if you just drove round for ages with nothing to kill, and races just wouldnt work...
