Long time ago, when it was popular, there were a few really killer race maps circulating. One in particular, almost looked like a roller coaster ride, and went on almost forever.
Anybody know where this, and possibly, any other nifty racing maps might be located??
I used to have them on my PC, but they seem to have vanished.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Think I found it---boomstick map---real nice, however, it seems to have a bug in it. I'm in the lead, you've lost the lead' seems to be in some sort of endless loop.
Any ideas??

That bug is due to the fact that race maps are quite difficult to make on Tmapper, I never managed to figure out how to do those so I gave up on mapping.

I could never figure out why that happens on that map. I thought it was th number of posts, but reducing them didn't help. It may be that the map is too large and the game can't figure out the distances, or that the track is curvey and crosses at a couple of points.

The map completely fails in an online game. The arrow points all over the place, instead of the next goal.

I played it with ten ai's, and the lag was pretty sad--and that was in single player as well--of course--
Too bad too, cause it's an awesome race map.
And the other thing was the fact that every weapon known to TM was on there--and I was using the old race install which only has six or eight weapons on it--something wrong there

Killer: I see the problem, but I need to know where the start position is and initial travel direction to fix it. Each checkpoint has to have a sequential unique ID so the game knows the order of travel. On your map, all IDs are 0, so the game is saying, You're this close to an ID 0. Another is that close. Whoever is closer is in the lead.

I have a working map done, Killer :)

I added extra checkpoints to allow the AI to navigate better, though I found there is a physical limit to the number of checkpoints TM can draw lines between in race mode :) - I hit it! I'm thinking it's about 128 based on how many checkpoints I have on the map. I have 64 checkpoints that just have markers/weapons.

Looks good :) And it even works on a dedicated server :D

BTW: Some clarification from my above info:

Checkpoint IDs that are multiples of 100: these points get markers and weapon generators

Checkpoint IDs that are not multiples of 100: these points help guide AIs between the other points, and act as extra spawn points in multiplayer games.

ah, now that makes sense. I was wondering why checkpoints dissappeared when I cahnegs the id on a race map. I never changed it by multiples of a hundred. Noted :)

(incedentally, using the Talon I finally broke the 9 mins laptime on that map. LOL)
