I think we should somehow figure out how to make the presents explode into gifts of ammo or health :)

Oh thats easy.

Use a spewer to randomly pick one of a set of ammo/powerup ents.

Ent chain the spewer to the explosphere of the present projectile.

Then set the present projectile to autodetonate at the end of its life, and optionally tun off the projectiles collision detection to keep it from exploding on impact. That way people have to wait to open it. }B>

The key is tieing them to the tree death. As I recall, that's a little harder :)

A tree ent can call an explosphere via ExploKill . then tie the spewer to the explosphere ;)

Ah, ok. I had recalled that it was a global set for TM...guess I was wrong :)

Harmless: I tested the server with the weapons. They work fine - don't lag. As long as you remembered to install the new graphics :D

Nah, just that I have about 10 different installs of TM each with different setups. I forgot which one I developed this one on :D

I was playing on Harmless's system last night and found that the pack still includes the Angel Strike.

As I recall from last year, this was the weapon, when in the hands of an AI and used against a structure/mesh, caused the server to lag and become unplayable due to infinite spewer loops.

Needs to be removed from the pack :)

----

Next question: What are we doing with normal weapons. I think all weapons need to have replacement artillery that reflects xmas colors. What do you think? :)

The error in angel strike was located and repaired. That's what the whole the pack is finally ready deal was, IIRC.

As for the stock weapons, I still have plans for them. Haven't had time to work on them, and i'm not sure exactly what i'm going to do for some of them, but please, don't modify them unless you use them as the basis for an entirely seperate weapon.

if i remember corrrectly, kv fixed that so it did not do the infinite loop thing.

i do remember that even a single player local game, the angel strike would freeze up everything, so he did something and fixed it.

which is why, on the download page i have given above,
[url]http://www.hallsted.org/</a>
there is an initial mod pack, xmas2005, and right underneath that, there is a patch for it that fixed it. i don't do mods, so i don't know what was changed, but i've played local single games with the xmas mods with 16 ai's running around and everything is hunky dory with the angel strike patch... with is the version in the 2006 xmas pack.

ok... while i was typing this up, kv responded. :) anyway, kv, when things are ready to be added, just send them to me and i'll incorporate them into the pack.

toodles,
harmless

and yes, for all those inquiring minds...
the xmas2006 pack works just fine in TM v1.0.1
which i tend to play more than v1.6
