Ok, I have a new widescreen 22 monitor. Besides running TM in windowized mode, is there any way I can get TM to produce the correct aspect ratio for a widescreen monitor?

I tried forcing it using the config file, but no luck.

Modifying the registry should work.

Use Start->run-> regedit and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Longbow Digital Arts/Tread Marks 1.5 , then change the values for GLBHEIGHT and GLBWIDTH . Remember to set them in decimal and not hexadecimal !

So, If I had a 1280 x768 laptop I would set the values for
GLBHEIGHT to 768
and
GLBWIDTH to 1280

right?

Sounds right, yep :)

Mine new monitor is 1680x1050 - tried it ingame last night. Absolutely beutiful :)

Just be aware that if you go into graphics settings you might the res and have to go back into the registry to fix it.

hmmm. Maybe I can write a quick program that allows you to pick a resolution from what your machine has listed and set the registry accordingly?

doesn't seem too dificult.

It wouldn't be too difficult if you're familiar with Platform SDK and DirectX. You just need RegSetValue, EnumAdapterModes, and their respective friends.

The program is finished. It needs DirectX 9, and .Net 2.0 but I included the necessary C# directx libs.

grab TMSMInstall.msi from here

Please let me know if there are issues, as I have the dev enviornment installed on all my systems and can't test it on a runtime-only machine.
