I'm thinking of doing a series of photoshop tutorials. THe first of which is availible now:
http://photoshop.boomstickjoes.com/

I'll be taking requests, but make them specific. (not 'How do I make a texture?' but more specific)

No...PhotoShop isn't free...

Yer best bet is either GIMP or PhotoPlus 5.5...those are free.

But if your willen to spend about 80-100$ then paint shop pro or Photo shop are nice.

Or you can always do what I do (getting into the advertising action)!

You decide you want to make something... google it for a few minutes, find the stuff you want... fire up gimp... and goof off. You usually don't get what you wanted, but end up doing about three other things you never imagined you could do and you forget about them as you keep learning more. Self teaching is great fun. It just take perseverance and caffeine and poor electric economy. This is what makes America GREAT.
