what program do i need to open and change
the tanks shape ?

blender, milkshape 3D are the 2 easy ones to use

Unwrap3D is fer making the LUV file and really can't change the shape of the tank.

GBV...if you change the shape of a stock tank, it will no longer be stock and you will have to redo the LUV file as well.

not really. he would only need to redo the LUV file if he changes the number of verticies in the object. If he just modifies the positions of the verticies, then the original LUV file can still be used. THe texturemap (bmp file) will need to be changed since it will look a bit funky.

anim8or can be used to open and modify .lwo files, but you need lithunwrap to convert the finished product back to .lwo format(it can read from but not save as .lwo) it also doesn't texture map worth a hoot. aside from that it is freeware. look for it at www.anim8or.com

i recomend Milkshape 3D nice program for making low polly objects for alot of different games. very nice tool. but u have to buy it of course...
