its called FastEdit. its a great item for working on ent files (or about anything else really). its used to open ANYTHING automatically into notepad. it lives in your context menu, right click on any file and hit FastEdit and it opens in notepad.

aside from that it becomes the default for unassociated file types. so you can for example double click a TM map file and it will open into notepad for you to edit (DONT edit the map files this way unless you know exactly what youre doing).

if youre like me and have ent files associated to a special and spiffy text editor and you have those times where you just want to open an ent file and change one small thing then this is for you.

Another cool text editor is metapad.

It has no file size limits, supports html links, works in about 20 languages, reads Macintosh text files, UNIX text file support, drag & drop text editing, multiple undo/redo, and about fifty other things I can't even explain, let alone understand.

Basically it does everything notepad can't.
