Loaded model M1OnePiece.lwo (from the trophy folder) into Unwrapper.
Clicked on preview->show model -
Unwrapper exited with an error, leaving _evil_ artifacts on my desktops and in my progs, s.a. black folder icons in tree view of MSVC++6 or "smeared fonts" in IE5.5 or not properly updated background task windows.
This behaviour can be reproduced on at least my main comp.

Personally i think trying to reproduce is a great pass-time. Ill be glad to help out any way I can .

anyhow, i had no problems with that model. i recently made a weapon that uses that mesh and didnt get any lockups at all.

works OK for me, too. however, i still have the February 27, 2001 version installed.

i'll install the latest version (March 7, 2001) and try it again.

do you know which version you are using, Dreamer?

P.S. my display is set at 32-bit, Lithium, and everything seems to be working fine with UnWrapper.

If you tell me what display mode you are using, 16-bit or 32-bit,
your OS, and what 3D card you have, I might be able to help you out
better.

I haven't experience any preview mode bugs like the one you describe.

I did have a bug with loading background textures in 32-bit display mode
a while ago, but it has been fixed since then.

BTW, the latest UnWrapper program has a file date: 3/8/01
If you don't have this version, try downloading it.

Or you can wait until tomorrow night, I have something new coming up.

man... and it still isnt night yet...

i had alsmost forgot, i had ran across a bug maybe worth mentioning. the as of now current version of the unwrapper gave me a problem the first (and only the first) time i ran it. the model heading under file was greyed out. i was completely unable to load in model files at first. thru some messing with it i finally had to create a shape and then after the shape was created the model heading was then active, and has been ever since. no other problems on my end tho.

Yeah, that's strange behavior. It happens to me too, but only after I compile
a new program. It happens at completely random times when I start the program.
Some menus get grayed out, some don't. The best solution at the moment is to
just quit and restart the program. At first, I thought it had to do something
with me running the program quickly right after I compiled the program, but it
looks like something else is happening. The only thing I do to the menus is
change their enabled/grayed state when they are not needed, so I have to look
at them again.

Can you make your own LWO's with the Unwrapper?

If I download it, will it cause any conflicts that might mess up my system?

no, you can't make .lwo's with UnWrapper - UnWrapper is for texturing .lwo models (and .3ds models, and .obj models...). what you want is a 3D modeller - check out MilkShape3D or Blender.

p.s. you can use UnWrapper to convert .3ds or .obj models to .lwo format.

also, i've d/l'd & used UnWrapper on my PC and it hasn't hurt a thing... there is no installation program, so i don't think that it messes with your Windows Registry or system settings...

UnWrapper is a self-contained program that doesn't install or change
anything on your computer.

BTW, I found and fixed the "grayed out" menu options on startup
mentioned above. As far as I know, the program is now bug-free.

It hasn't crashed on my computer in a long time.
