Yep it's up.

Hey peeeto, let me know how it works out.

BTW, the program only checks the default adapter for HAL support, so if you
have more than one graphics card that is not the primary display adapter,
like a Voodoo card, it probably won't try to use it. I can add a startup
device selection routine if this is a problem with anyone.

Oh yeah, you probably shouldn't call it "UVMapper" because it might get
me in trouble with Steve Cox's UVMapper. That's why I named it UnWrapper.

lookin good, Lithium! works great on my PC!

but i have a question: how do you get a texture to show? i've copied FlamerHigh.lwo, FlamerHigh.luv and Flamer.bmp in a single folder, opened up FlamerHigh.lwo and checked Preview--->Show Model, but no texture (i have Textured checked under Preview as well).

i tried changing the name of the bitmap to FlamerHigh.bmp, but that didn't work either...

[EDIT] never mind - i figured it out! you just load the bitmap into the background! BEAUTIFUL!

Just wanted to let you know your proggy is certified 100% Radeon compatible

Now, to fork over the cash for a copy of Milkshape (I _LOVE_ blender, but it's hard to do low-poly models with it)

Lithium-
re: my earlier post about model rotation... that's more of a job for modelling progs - don't want to bog you down with unnecessaries.

i do have a more useful request, though. can you add a toolbar button to refresh the background image?

that would be great - after editing and saving the image, one would just have to hit the refresh button to see the changes, rather than clicking File--->Background--->Open... every time.

thanks!

I updated the tool with a device selection box for people who have dedicated 3D cards.
And cleaned up some other small things. Might want to download it again if anything
is not working right. Oh, and it doesn't do smooth shading if checked, although I
do set the renderstate to gourad shading. I think I have to set the normals myself
to get smooth shading to work properly. For some reason, I thought D3D calculated
the normals on its own.

Kaeto:
Does the Radeon have a 32-bit display mode? If it does, can you test it out?
I can only use 16-bit modes, but the program should work for 32-bit display modes
too.

peeeto:
As you probably found out, the program autoloads the luv file if it finds a matching
filename in the same directory, but it doesn't autoload the background texture.

What exactly are you doing that requires the background to be refreshed after it is
loaded? Does it disappear?

oh - nothing seems to be wrong with anything, Lithium... i was just testing out painting on a texture bitmap and then checking the results on the textured model.

having both the mapper program and a paint program open, i'd paint on the texture a little, then save the bitmap, then switch to the mapper. but in order to see the changes, i'd have to click File--->Background--->Open, select the bitmap, click OK (many clicks).

i just thought it would be nice to have a toolbar button that would reload the current background with a single click. would make editing & previewing textures more efficient.

Yes, it works fine in 32 bit. I only use in 32 bit 'cuz it's almost free on the Radeon (well more like the 16 bit sucks)

thanks.

That's a good idea, I just didn't know you were using a graphics program at the
same time. I updated the UnWrapper tool with your reload background suggestion,
so check it out.

I also put the Show Preview menu option at the top of the floating menu (right
mouse button click), so it is easier to go back and forth into editor/preview
mode wihtout having to use the pulldown menu.

Oops, I uploaded a stupid bug with the hardware version. The mouse is restricted
if you try to move some selected points. I just now fixed it and updated the file.
It isn't that apparent if you have the window maximized, but you might see it
otherwise.

oh no! i checked on Lithium's UnWrapper last night, and he had a brand new version (dated 5/2/01) ready!

but i went to look for it tonight to download it, and to remind everyone that Lithium has been regularly working on the program, but it's gone now!

Lithium! where are you!?!?
