Kaeto - the specs are available...but they aren't written down. We are releasing them...but we haven't formated the info for release. Just a matter of time. Bug me if you want details...but not today - I'm not working today

K. And to everyone - don't get your hopes way up. I'm not planning on making an editor, rather I want to write a merge utility that merges several different files into a TM map.

Sounds good to me, maybe we should form a team - each person get specialist at their own thing and your program to merge them all together ???

just a thought !

What I plan on doing is having a program that merges two .png files, a heightmap and a texture map, and a file with entity data in it, into a TM .ved file. So you will be able to create your terrain with any program that can export bitmaps (use PSP or something to convert it into a PNG).

Sure, it'll be crude, but it will work until someone with more motivation and skill than me makes a real editor.

Yeah - Noper just played with altering the height map. But his editor was limited - very basic...not something that's really useable.

Matrix - give me a message on ICQ whenever you get a chance - got an idea for you

Kaeto - could you possibly not work with .png's, but with RAW files? It would be quite a bit easier for me to handle them if I want to program a VRML preview for the maps ppl design.
Well, that's future talk. What I'm currently working on is a sensible auto-installer for mods and stuff, and as soon as I figure how to access the windows registry, it should be almost done. I've already mentioned my concept in the general forum, any help welcome. Due to a critical shortage in spare time, I won't be able to work very fast, but it's working better than I expected.
MFC is a cool tool to work with, as I discovered today. And thus, it's not a great step from TC++ 1.0 to VC++ 6.0 with MFC.
