Ahh...the art of mining - here we are about to expand a hole we started immensely...by the use of two nukes. The rest of us just want to go for a ride

Forgot to say who was present in that hole Kaeto, Dudymas, Peeeeeto (our master miner), Swisher (our newest inductee), myself and one other (it was either Hawk or Karldar - can't remember - they both played but they were on at different times). IP: |

That's me in the screenshot all right. I'm the dwarf with the blood flag and nuke that I shot Kaeto with instead of hitting the ground. Still looked cool tho. What a ride!------------------ I like pie! IP: |

ok ... now I'm intrigued. How does one partake in this interesting hobby, and what are the objectives? ************************************* (on the outside, but trying to get a little closer without pushing. I know my place.)

The mining mod that we used to do the ramp with included very few modifications:The Plasma Pulser from my download site was added. The Ramdrill had the crater size increased. The Spire Maker (which I haven't put on my site yet) was added. No mining mod is complete without the plasma pulser No fun gameplay mod is complete without the spire maker I've uploaded the mining mod to my website (probably have more files than I need...I just grabed all the ones I "might" have changed): ftp://ftp.3d-unlimited.com/c%3A/alex/ftp/pub/3d-unlimited/treadmarks/servers/mining.zip Some of the weapons have changes since I did this mod. The Spire Maker won't have flare trails for instance. But all the 1.0 weapons should be the same...just not updated for the tracking additions of the 1.5 weapons. ------------------ Random Chaos Longbow Digital Arts neym@longbowdigitalarts.com ------------------ Admin for theTerrain Deformation Site, Terrain Deformation Forum Member of Clan Temporal Chaos and the Mining Guild [This message has been edited by Random Chaos LDA (edited December 06, 2000).] IP: |

I installed the mining mod and will try to get a server up tonight. I like the spire maker, will have to add that to the Flying Tanks N Cookie Dough mod.IP: |

Good - that spire maker is probably the oldest new player weapon in Tread Marks. It dates from over a year ago - probably mid October '99. I think everyone at LDA played on my server with it back then except Wendy - but that was a year ago now back in the 2nd beta.I look forward to mining tonight! --RC IP: |

I lay claim to the oldest player-built weapon - the popper. It was a bolt-onto the back weapon that fired a guided projectile with a rather long ramp-up straight up into the air (yes, it was a clone of BZ's popper). Great for nailig people on the other side of a hill. If you look back, I have a post regarding a bug about it in like the second thread on this board IP: |
