I have been informed that the first beta of the English version of Proton is out... For those of you who tend to be afraid of beta versions - the program itself is very well-tested and (a few years?) out of beta - this is the first public English version, though. http://www.meybohm.de For those of you who don't have a clue why they should bother: Proton is a small, fast multi-file texteditor with syntax-highlighting capabilities for almost every programming language and text file format there is - including Perl, Java, HTML, (TeX,) C, C++, MS ini files and various others - supports drag and drop, handles unix and windows text files alike, can do multi-file search&replace, features user-definable keyboard macros (e.g. useful for calling your favourite compiler from within the prog) etc etc etc In short: it's good. Oh, and it's free. No ads, no hooks, no nagware, simply free. Did I mention that it's very easy to use? IP: |
