as long as you keep ur firewal upto date you wont have a problem - most dicks use typical trojans like subseven, backorofice and deep throat. What u have to remember is that any firewall prog worth its salt can keep these sukkas at bay.

Its also worth knowing that there is on average about 50 new virii / trojans a DAY appearing. Now take me as example, I have a prog that checks for a new brainfile (updates to the virus scanner) each n' every time i go online - if theres a new one ... it updates. If you cant stay one step ahead of common low iq jerks in this world theres little point being online.

TIP : WinME and XP both have "Rolback" software so even if you firewall is penetrated you can go back to a date it was safe and rid yourself of it that way. If youre on neither of these ops see if you can get a hold of "GO BACK".... its a rollback prog for most good OS.

As for Nimbda, the patch can cause problems with webservers as well as keeping them resonably safe. So thats worth checkin out.

Consider looking at a prog called HACK TRACER or try out some of the tools for security on www.astalavista.box.sk

I find it highly unlikely that anyone from this community would be hitting you, its probably a casual twit with an ip scan program that sees port 80 (internet explorer) open on your system. Port 21 is for FTP access and 139 is most commonly associated to ICQ
