Topic: How do you "batchup triangle fans"?

Is this some algorithm you worked out that traverses the binary tree and tries to fan as much as possible?I would imagine that this sort of approach would only fan 3 or 4 tris together at most. Is that so? Idji IP: |

Correct, I usually get between 3 and 4 triangles per fan. Fans of 4 triangles means 1.5 vertices per triangle, which is half of the 3 vertices per triangle you'd need to send unconnected triangles. It's still a little ways away from the theoretical ultimate of 0.5 vertices per triangle (using vertex arrays), but pretty close to the theoretically perfect stripping solution of 1.0 vertices per triangle.------------------ -- Seumas McNally, Lead Programmer, Longbow Digital Arts
