Seumas, you already told you use the point extension for rendering particles. Do you apply textures to them?

Actually, I haven't used OpenGL Points for a long time now. The dust clouds in the current Test are done with billboarded triangles with circular textures on them, which actually eats a fair bit of fill rate; I should probably switch to billboarded quads for everything considering my "points" are usually so large now.

There is no way to apply textures to the face of OpenGL points, so except for very tiny points, they aren't that useful.
