Necromancy is Bad Check the date on the thread before replying to it. If no new posts have been made for a number of months on a thread, it is dead; no one wants to talk about the topic anymore. This is not a hard and fast rule, but generally, a thread that is more than 3 months old is considered dead. If you have some truly meaningful input to add (not something like, "Talk about a blast from the past LOL"), then a revival is okay. Past the one or two month point, if you do want to reopen a discussion on an old thread, the best way to do it is to start a new thread with your new angle on the subject, and include a link to the old thread to indicate that you've already read it. If you don't have anything to contribute to an old topic, don't respond to it.------------------ Tread Marks Ladders IP: |
