I really want to get my 'puter up and working.

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again.
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Well here's hoping that my 'puter is up and running on the Internet by then. I still havent' been able to figure out why none of my PCI cards are regeristering.

couple of possibilities:

1) Your bios needs to be reset
2) Try the cards one at a time, in different slots
3) you may need to reflash your bios
4) try to find newer drivers for you mainboard.

I usually do this, I disconnect the hard drive so that the computer will stop at the bios screen. This screen has all the information the bios accumulated about your hardware. The bottom of the screen lists the PCI cards (assuming AMI or Award BIOS). If the cards donot show up, then it could be the cards not seated properly, teh contacts have oxidized and need to be cleaned (a red or pink eraser does the trick), or there is a conflict bewteen them. IT may also be bios related. But if the bios sees the cards and windows does not, it is a driver issue, or possibly a corrupted windows installation.

Killer, does your server search for your username in the outputs of the server log to put to the acounts on your server? What i do, you see, is modify my name a ton, and just keep dudy in it somewhere. could you enable a feature so we can start an account and have the server route everythin with a certain string we designate in it would be written as under our name. We could then log on, check the name that was originally there, and either delete those scores or not based upon what we think of it. This is just an idea I got all the sudden. If you don't do that already, i would like you to make an option so that players can choose more pseudonames... It'd be cool to go in secretly every now and then besides just having it obvious who I am.

TY Killer I will check that out, and remember the idea of unplugging the HD. It looks like the card may be being seen by the Mobo but the driver doesn't seem to be anwhere around. I have not found a newer bios to flash, it is a new Mobo, for that matter the model is less than a year old itself. I downloaded the latest driver for my modem, so I will see what that does.

Dudy: the prob is that there is nothing stopping players from redirecting other players scores. I can always patch things up for you if you need.
