I have become aware of this new game, swindel or ripoff, and all of it has disapointed me. for one i hope that You LDA continue with your DX engine or what ever its is(sry i dont understand that sort of stuff.) Any way.Im looking forward to it. I had been creating a mod for my self taht trys to put TreadMarks to its max... and im stilll working on it... (one thing i need is more ent commands or more detaild commands.
This Tantulis company will hopefully get the screw over in the end...o yeah they stole my ideas too... even though they didnt know them...

I will in NO way infer that Tm and Metal Smell look ANYTHING ALIKE

I won't either..

I'll just flat out say it.

they look like the same engine.

as for pushing TM to it's max...I've only hit a few walls so far. texture wise, I can't see that there are ANY restrictions, other then that animated textures have to be in 256 color

Flying Tanks and Cookie Dough?
Oh, wait, no. If tanks were ment to fly they would have been born with little bags of salted peanuts.

Speaking from a non-programmers point of view, how high-end is this compared to other gaming engines?

Like what would BF1942 use?

Doom III uses a brand-new engine right? Same with HL2?

Ya they have new engines that can pump out DX9 optimised code for pixel shaders. 1942 uses a type of vector engine like wolfenstein and most first person shooters. TM uses voxel shaders and displacement maps for the ground, so does Metal Smell.... and considering theres very few of these kind of games around - you have to consider the extreme coincidence since Tantalus had and examined LDA's source code (with permission).
