I have a couple of computers hooked up to my cable modem by a router. One computer is hard wired to the router and the other uses a wireless connection.

How do I set it up so I can play multiplayer just between my two computers?

Thanks.

As long as the two computers are using TCP/IP as one of the protocols to talk to the router, and thus to each other it should work.

When you start a single player game ( best on the faster machine ) make sure that "allow joins" is enabled. Then start a multiplayer game on the other computer and the game should be visible.

Other thing to remember is to hit the "refresh LAN" button and not the "refresh Internet" button.

Thanks, I found my problem. I had to turn off the built-in Windows XP firewall before the other computer would recognize the LAN.

Welcome to the game and the forums, Jim!

It's always the firewall...

Hope to see you on the servers soon!
