Ok...

I have my site up on my personal system: http://141.195.136.164:25000

However, I still need a permenant host. Anyone that has 500 or so MBs of space and support for both ASP and MySQL please contact me. FTP server prefered, but not required.

Also, report dead links to me at randomc@treadmarks.cjb.net

Tanks!

It's good to see yer site back even if it's just on a standby system until you get a decent host. Thanks, RC! You've been missed!!

this is an interesting fact to take note of,
when you do find a web host.

all web hosts boast of guaranteed uptime...
but it is all not the same.

99.999% uptime translates to 5.2 minutes of downtime per year.
99.99% uptime means 52.5 minutes of downtime per year.
99.9% uptime means 8.7 hours of downtime per year.
99% uptime means 87.6 hours of downtime per year... over 3 days of downtime!!!

it's just interesting, when i was shopping around for web hosts, i saw different ones using two 9's, three 9's, and four 9's...
so i stayed away from the hosts that only offered 99% uptime, though, if you did not know better, you would have thought that 99% uptime was a good deal.

toodles,
harmless

I hear Catalyst2 has space available
It's not a recommended host if you haven't been following the news...

I was considering helping until I saw the word ASP. Lost me.

That's a good post harmless. Our goal when running servers is "to get the 5 nine's."

Now I know the math!

Paranor: If you use Microsoft IIS it has ASP built in. If its Apache, it can be installed as an addon (though why anyone would do that unless a site wants it I have no idea)

Arent' 5 "9's" refered to as "5 sigma"...this is the pharmacuetical standard of excellence that was initiated four years ago. Rigid, but expected...

Do the Front Page Server Extensions for Unix give you ASP support? I have installed them before on Apache for a project, but was not involved in the development of the site.
