Ginger is a hair color. It is not a term used much in the US, thus the huh? remarks.
Ginger is a reddish-brown color. It is the color of our ginea pig (geez, I know I spelled that wrong, but my brain is still on holiday).
No prejudices, regardless of color of hair or lack of hair.

I'm still clueless. Is this a poll for hair color? If it is, dark brown.

I think you could translate ginger for auburn or copper for the most part.
I always thought ginger was the chique chick on Gilligan's Island~!!

Gilligan's Island: A sit-com that played in the US throughout my childhood.
"Just sit right down and I'll tell a tale,
a tale of a fateful trip
That started from a tropic Isle, aboard this tiny ship.
The ship set sail. . . "
It got into a shipwreck and stranded 7 castaways from the "Minnow" on a tropic isle with nary any supplies.
Ginger was a movie star. More info: http://www.gilligansisle.com/ginger.html
