The following should help you have a less lag when playing a DDM: reduce the TM settings, shutdown all non-essential programs, and avoid synching delays.

1. TM setting: Under “Game Option” then “Graphic Settings.
Screen resolution =640x480 or 800x600
Bit depth = 16
Texture resolution = 256
Fog = No
Dust = 25%
Terrain Tris = 1000
Mesh = Low
Detail Texture = No
View distance = 500
TreadMarks = No

2. EndItAll:
Use a program EndItAll to shutdown all unnecessary programs that would be running in the background.
The link is below to download the program: http://www.pcmag.com/article/0,,s%3D1478%26a%3D13909,00.asp

why are you saying to turn down all the graphics settings to change lag? how hard your graphics card is working has nothing to do with the rate at which you can send and recieve information over the internet

Scrap, some of us have older slower vid cards that take time to make the adjustments that is sent by the server. The lower vid res etc. can speed that up and therefore reduce some backup for us in the game.

May the sun shine warm upon your face.
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again.
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

And reduce the amount of data that comes in...less detail...less data to flow to your connections...and there will be alot...if you consider 20 or more tanks...

I don't know how it works, just that it works.

I still don't think that they are related at all. i think that the same information is recieved (coordinates of tanks, size of craters, name of file to load to display X object,...) it just changes say, which model, high res or low res, that the vid card processes. what im saying is, i cant think or any other information that the game could ask for, i just dont think it works that way.
