It appears that the Space Shuttle Columbia was lost during re-entry.....
Peices were seen falling as the Shuttle broke up, seven crew members were on board.

May God be with their families.

Flying Tanks and Cookie Dough?
Oh, wait, no. If tanks were ment to fly they would have been born with little bags of salted peanuts.

dont think i was old enough (alive?) to remember the last time. i didnt even know they were up there, stunned me when i signed on and saw the news. that will be a real killer for any possibility of an israli space program. NASA probably knew what would happen. they said that the peice of foam that broke off of the booster rocket and hit the wing didnt cause much damage but... they wouldnt have told the astronauts that they were going to die if there was nothing they could do about it.

Deepest condolences to their families and friends on this very sad day.

When you push technology the way that we do, sometimes you must pay a terrible price.

We will most certainly continue to fly. God bless those with the courage and strength to keep pushing us forward.

- I've always had a strong interest in NASA and the space program.. events like this really bring home the risks involved in pioneering space.

Rest In Peace.

High Flight
by Jon Gillespie Magee, Jr.
Pilot Officer, RCAF ---- 1941

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence; hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, Up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

I have reports from good authority that our lost travelers are in good hands.

Be at peace, but keep their families and friends in your thoughts.

This is really bad...NASA has never lost a space craft on re-entry. It will take a while before they can sort out what happenned or maybe never.

Amen to the words of Synack...
