woops, I should probally give you a link to the TMapper forum instead of just spam. Go here and you should get most of your questions answered http://www.treadmarks.de/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.cgi?board=tmapper

heres even more spam. The above link is mostly for "TMapper announcements, discussion, community support etc..."

This link is to a forum explicitly meant for making maps http://qersys.ath.cx/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=map

If you have questions concerning the way TMapper works or bug reports/feature requests, http://www.treadmarks.de is the place to go - if you have just plain no idea where to start, maybe you should try and get someone on icq. Map creation itself is another issue - I would like to encourage you to discuss that on coax's forum (since random chaos's is dead and I'm not familiar with any DNX map making forums) - at least for now. If that one becomes the main place for such discussions, keep using it, otherwise try to always stay where all the others are - at least until we have compiled a faq and a basic howto document to get people started.

Ha, finally a question I can answer!! I, like you, know nothing about maps, but I do know about spam. Aside from the fake meat stuff in cans, spam is fun, useless, neverending sending of information to many people. See: for an "official" definition.
As for a forum, you are in one here. A forum is where people can get together to discuss different things. Here you can discuss Longbow Digital Arts stuff. This one happens to be called the Ultimate Bulletin Board (see the blue sign in your upper left hand corner of your screen). There are many forums out there. Coax has one, so does Kong. There are forums for the Deadliest Death Match (DDM) and for so many other things. To access a world of these specifically for TreadMarks, go to the [URL=http://www.treadmarks.com]www.treadmarks.com
site. Many links from there. You can also start at www.longbowdigitalarts.com and follow the links for forums, or for treadmarks. All roads lead you somewhere. For even more help, just post again (and get your post count to go up, too. But that is another subject and I would then be spamming. . .)hehe
PS: Goldant, I learn from the best LOL

Aakk! my editing for spelling problems made one giant link! Here they are again for clarity: http://www.dictionary.com/search?q=spam for the definition of spam http://www.dictionary.com/search?q=forum for the definition of forum www.treadmarks.com for treadmarks stuff www.longbowdigitalarts. for the maker of treadmarks
There are MANY more out there, so my apologies to those I did not mention. I believe that they will be found!!

a "forum" is an on-line bulletin board. It is what we are communicating though.

"spam" = Gold Ant

I assume you've read through Sue's definition links for that last "spam = GA" joke to make sense

For Kong's forum just register and log in, no biggie.

This might also help. If not get ICQ http://download.com.com/3000-2150-10126452.html?tag=lst-0-1

(almost everyone has their ICQ # in their profile) and someone can help you with it step by step.

I'll jump in here briefly to mention to the newcomers that Dreamer is one of our most honorable members who is from Germany.

And I continue to be so very impressed at his command of the English language. I wish I could speak German nearly as well.

Aber ... nicht!!!

To make maps for Treadmarks you will need to get Tmapper. get it from the bwl website
www.treadmarks.de

while you are there, browse through their bulletin board. They have a forum for Tmapper guestions and mapmaking in general.

You will need to make a height map(grayscale) and then import it into tmapper.

check the link that i posted above for a short heightmap tutorial.

you do not need any 3d programs to make maps for TM. Only a paint program and Tmapper...
