hello all,

this is just for your information, so that no
one will think that my server has gone away for good... or
that it has dropped off the face of the
earth or anything like that...
starting tues (5/28/2002) the hallsted i am
server will be off. :-(
i'm going to cupertino to apple HQ to take
some mac OSX server classes and learn the way
of the apple. while i'm gone, my parents will
have some visitors... and... oh, there's an
empty bedroom and the server is in my bedroom
and it's kind-of a noisy computer (it lulls
me to sleep at night) but i need to turn it
off so normal people can get to sleep in a
quiet room.
anyway, i'll be back thurs (6/6/02) so i'll
get the hallsted i am server back on line.

see, i told you, useless information.
toodles,
harmless

To tell the truth, the real useless information is what you're going to learn about OSX.

Very worthwhile info, I thought the server was gone for good, also added links to your site from mine.

Networking on a pc = hours of fun

Networking on a mac = "can you find the appletalk icon" lol

shouldn't OS X have built-in TCP/IP and IPX support since it's BSD-based?

jeepers, i don't get no respect.
and while i'm gone, i ain't going to have no
internet access. [[ yes, such a sharp
command of the english language]]. oh well,
i'm going through withdrawals already.

with OSX, everything is tcp/ip, and one
can enable appletalk, if it is necessary.
hey, OSX is the future. embarace it while
you can. micro$oft is alienating way to many
people, and i am just tired of the mentality
of their marketing, sales, and management.

yup, apple is the way to go.
may the force be with you, and may a mac be
in your future.

It use to be that only Ras would call me the devil....now Paranor too. If possible please capitalize the "D" as in Devil...yes, it is a proper name...

every TM site i have seen so far uses black.

and KiLlEr, i'll send you an email when i get
back about server signup.
[[ since i have no desire to install the
icq virus on my computer ;-) ]]

Ras,
Your MS bias is showing. There is so more to the world than Windows. Expand your mind.. Be free.
Personally I think OS X and the Xserve are the epiptomy of what computing should be.
And as far as busting on Appletalk, does anyone remember NETBEUI, the original Windows network protocol?
Hmph!
Does XP stand for Xtra Problems?
Hmph!

Gimmie windows Legacy - I could take that sukka appart with my bare hands i really hung off going win95 because the sodding thing did everything for you - i still wanteed to be able to manually play with the DMS and IRQ settings of my Gravis Ultrasound ! lol....

ps: if youre dialup take the tick from NETBEUI, it can be used as a way into your system...

Funny how OSX relies on TCP/IP when thats a microshaft protocol lol

btw while were here to take the rip out of M$ - take a look at : www.microsith.com

Bah! It's not a MS bias. It's a practicality bias. They're simply an over-priced and underperforming niche. Mind you, I don't really care. I just felt obliged to mess with devil. It's my job.

And it is now my swore duty to mess with Ras since Matrix has parted from the LDA forums...beware Ras...flames are coming your way...BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...*cough*cough*...I'm still not use to the evil laugh...

Overpriced, maybe, but with dual 1Ghz G4 processors, I think they have plenty of power. Have you seen the XServe? How about using one of those for a Power TM system? Dreamer has TM running in Linux, so it should work on OS X.

Microshaft would like to think that TCP/IP is theirs, but in most cases, they don't even implement all of it.
It came from UNIX.

The reason I like OSX is that it is very Linux like, and there is a lot to like about Linux.

Haven't seen XServe. But then again not being an IT guy I'm severly underinformed about such things. I just like shooting my mouth (typing fingers?) off.

And dEVIL beware: Hassling me is a big job for a noobe such as yourself. Perhaps you could practice a bit on your dust mite minions that you previously mentioned. And if you could, in Matrix's honor throw in some British colloquialisms. They're quite entertaining at times.
