A while back, there was a thread from someone who had just installed one of these, and I was interested in how it performed. But I can't find the thread now. Someone please refresh my memory!

Melon,

Just in case you were considering buying it: For the love of the almighty don't!!! It is a decent value for the money. But it's a least one and half year old technology. It doesn't have integrated transform and lighting either, which is a defacto standard these days. It's basically on the level of a GeForce2 GTS but with no T&L... and that's old! A GeForce3 Ti200 may be twice as much but you still can get one for a little over $100. They often will overclock easily to Ti500 levels. I have a Ti200 clocked at Ti500 in my own computer. Your milage may vary. There's no game out that it can't handle easily with real high frame rates. That won't be true of the Kyro. Even TM would probably tax the KyroII. The KyroII SE is supposedly coming out soon (weeks, months?).

Save yourself from mediocrity!!!

Thanks ras.
The next video card I get will be whatever I can find at the first saturday sale in Dallas tomorrow night. I am hoping to find a decent deal on a GF3, since the GF4s have been out a while now.
I was wondering if anyone had actually tried that card because I read a review on it a while back, and it seemed, if a little primitive, like it had potential.
Everything is nVidia or ATI these days, and I am a big fan of competition. I would like to see a few more chip companies get into the game. ATI and nVidia seem to have peacefully divided the market between them. They don't seem to compete with each other. It's kind of like
3D=nVidia
Other=ATI
