I am *still* extremely irritated by the way Space Above and Beyond ended. It was such a great show and ended on such a cliffhanger. And it had nothing to do with ratings - just politics. Really too bad.

I prefer my SciFi dark like that. I still religiously watch all Trek stuff, I just wish there were more shifty main characters in the Trek universe... kinda like the weirdos on Lexx!

I prefer the original Lexx, not the blond bimbo playing her now. As for Scifi, well, the old Trek is wearing thin, the new Trek's hair is wearing thin ( alot like mine), Farscape is a little off the edge, but the chick's are something else, and B5, well, I haven't seen that on the tube much up here. I did watch all of the movie versions they put out, and was impressed with their "aliens" ( and Ms. Christian, of course). Stargate got me going with the "portal" view of things, and the story lines were usually interesting. Right now, there's not much up there on the list, although my "Alien" library keeps me looking for new items every once in a while.

Me:

Star Trek: TNG, and Voyager were good. The original is too cheap looking for my tastes. I found DS9 to be boring. Still deciding on Enterprise.

B5: What's not to like?

SeaQuest: twas a good show, but it got a little weird with the aliens.

Space A&B: another good show, too bad to see it end like that.

Farscape: mmm... Aeryn... oh, good story too.

Stargate: good show, believeable story. Too bad they are going to get rid of daniel.

Tron: it's TRON!

3rd Rock: not really scifi, but good for a laugh.

Star wars: um... Episode 2 should be good...

Invader ZIM: another "not really scifi", but I have downloaded episodes of this show because it is so funny.

Jerimiah (sp?): that new one on showtime after stargate. Nice storyline, believeable.

Babylon 5 and Star Trek TNG:

I loved both because they often tackled ethereal subjects like the vary nature of existence, the fluidity of time, the convergence of biology and technology, etc.
You know, stuff that just blows the mind, written in an intelligent manner. Of course, I wouldn't suggest it was that way all the time. Sometimes it blew my mind how they could fill a single hour full of so much crap!

As far as the X-Files goes, I loved it because it was dark, moody and full of conspiracies - kind of like real life. Gillian was just a bonus (or David, for those of you that prefer that sort of thing).

Star Trek original - is ok depending on my mood

Star Trek TNG/Voyager/DS9 - I can watch one and really access it but if I do that, the other two, I don't enjoy as much.

Babylon 5 - I watched from the start and next season after the first, then kind of lost track but found my faith in time for the Shadows.

Red Dwarf - FAF (funny as...)

Farscape - has matured definitely with age and is way more enjoyable now! Less of a Jim Henson affair.

Space: above and Beyond - was the spit! I loved that show and loved how it ended too. It was so open for another series, as TH said and it was a BIG shame it's not on now. Go CHIGS!!
Although there were a lot of pettied lips!
(It also had R Lee 'I didn't know they stacked **** that high' Ermey)

Stargate - Ace, dry humoured appeal. Sometimes a bit annoying but room for great stories with the constant death and rebirth of Apophis, although sometimes can be a bit tiresome!

Dr Who and all that stuff - nah!

Lexx - Nah!

Enterprise - well going by past ST shows, it seems it takes about a season fo the ball to relaly start rolling. People are criticising it far too early on and don't ocnsider the fact it's totally new and back to the days before teleportation. It's good to involve a little more of reality back into Sci-Fi

Quantum Leap - yeah I loved that show! Had some potential. Did Sam ever return home?? I can't remember.

V - man that was way cool. I mean I loved it as a kid, and looking back at it, even though the effects and haircuts are dated, it still rocks. (Babylon 5 spin-off actors anyone?)

War of the Worlds TV Series - strangely addictive and not really adhering to the original plot whatsoever but still enjoyable. It seems that Scooby Gangs are a drive for these kinda shows.

Sliders - never watched

Starship Troopers: Roughnecks - now this is a kickass cartoon. Apart from how wicked the movie was even with it's political spite and belly punch, the cartoon just keeps plodding along and even got into my shop's new release section. Seems there are a few believers.

Relic Hunter - Tia Carrere... mm.. but nah!

trying to think of anything else I've sorta watched!

Sorry coax, i didnt like Andromeda - nice try at catchin me out tho lol..... Crusade was cool for as long as it lasted - liked the idea of having a technomage to hand when things got too hot LOL

Ni - as i recall sam went and met a barman in the last episode of QL - the barman was full of metaphore and seemed to represent .... well ... GOD ! i suppose .... all we see as the closing shot was the door to al's holo-chamber open. Almost as bad as the Space above n beyond ending.... btw if anyone remembers the female android in that, she was actually a porn star tryin to make the break

enterprise - I like it... i think its going places seasons 2 onwards should rock. Word on the scene is yet another series is on the horison called "Star Trek : Academy" which chronicles kirk n co as kids back in their teens getting into all sorts of crap

I recon the guy playin tom paris would be a good choise for kirk LOL (remember him running the flight team in TNG that wesley got kicked off for causing the death of a crewmate ??) hehehe

The guy that played Paris as young Kirk? Are you nuts??? Paris was suppose to be some rebel that was reigned in and given a second chance by Janeway. HA! He was no more a rebel than is an alter boy at communion. I liked Voyager for the most part. But the only good purpose that milk faced panzy served was being Torres's whipping boy.

oh yeh, seems I forgot some.

Quantum Leap: was a good show, but never interested me that much. Ni - on the last episode, sam leapt as himself to the day he was born. His final (shown) leap was to get Al back with his wife. Sam disappeared after that.

and Roughnecks: excellent show. Can't wait for the K and earth arcs to come out on dvd at the end of may. then maybe sony will finish the series.

Sliders: good show until the last season on SciFi. That season was an insult to the rest of the series.

yeah I remember that Matrix! The Dude that Tom Paris guy played who was the leader of the group of elite Academy kids and Wes. Supposed to be performing a routine move but wanted to do something more elaborate... conspiracy...Wes's morals..finally grasses on them all! lol

He'd b good as Kirk but I think he's outstayed his welcome in two series already!

I heard about the Academy series before Enterprise but i dind't know it would be about Kirk and co. 'Who wiww play Checkov?' is my qwwwestion.

Talking of Torres... anyone remember the ep where her human and Klingon dna were separated? the Klingons' was used for soem kind of antidote to cure an intelligent, dying race BLAHBLahbl...! But Torres...human... = HOT!!

a) This whole thread doesn't belong here.
b) No scifi can beat these two:

  • Perry Rhodan
  • Raumpatrouille Orion

But then again that mainly applies to the novels. Too said that afaik only about 120 of over 2000 issues of Perry Rhodan have been translated into English and none(?) of the Orion series.

SCI FI NERD ALERT.... SCI FI NERD ALERT!!!

You guys have just crossed the bounds of normal sci-fi television watching and went straight into:
"... Call my wife and have her bring me my Star Trek costume, I don't want to be late for the convention."

Kevlar's Top 8 signs you spend too much time watching sci-fi.

8) You refer to your garage as the "Battle Bridge"
7) When asked what grade you got on your last test, you always reply "B5"
6) When you wife interupts your game of TM to ask if you a want something to eat, you always reply "Make it so..."
5) It drive your wife crazy when you always pronouce "fire-escape" as "far scape"
4) You have your B5 fan club membership dues automatically deducted for your checking account.
3) You Internet Service Proivider... StarTrek.Net (This is a real isp, btw)
2) You own a 5 year subscription to the adult magazine "Klingon Chicks"

And the number one sign you spend too much time watching sci-fi
1) You actully own a year supply of AMBASSADOR LONDO MOLLARI Hair care products.

That's all I could think of right now...

Anyone else want to make a "Top" list???

Tell u how i got started, i was at college getting going with DTP and earning some cash, i was told about a "club" where my design services would be needed.. i went along and sure enough i got loads of work all funded in whole by the college stationary cabinet - i kinda got hooked - there were some real freekazoids there, but there was an equal number of "normals".

Normals dont buy - Fanatics do : good business is where you find it
