the other day I set up a hidden server(offline) then connected to it (same box, just see if I could) was showing a constant ping of 115. is this normal?

I've seen it where everybody has an even number - 222, 444, 666, 888.

Which IP# were you connecting on, Rex?

LAN? (usually 192.168.0.**, or 10.0.0.**)
Loopback or Local Host? ( 127.0.0.1)
Your ISP? ( usually assigned)

Just wondering.. If you use LAN or Localhost, your ping should be under 100

When I've hosted, I got pings in the low 100's, too. I connected through the net like any other player.

127.0.0.1 ya see I hadn't been able to run a ded server and a 'normal' game at the same time before(on the same box), but since I got the new one...(looks like it has a 'pos' vid card tho) been trying new stuff. kinda nice to not wait a min to 2 min while it loads a new map (with the v3splatt and a few other mods bout 12 sec)
