Last night when I was playing TM when a game finished and was starting to play the next one, when it said "map loaded" TM crashed and I had to restart the game. This happened 2 or 3 times. Any ideas anyone?

I don't know what causes the problem but if I restart the comp everthing fixes itself.

I guess I will wait and see if it happens again.

Maybe it was because of the moon's position over my house.

Isn't there a problem of too many mods in the Addons folder? I used to crash every 4th game until I deleted my Addons and "started over".

Sounds about right. I had to do the same thing with my addon packs
Either that or too many errors in the addons are causing the crashes, thats what I thought

I will try that. Just make sure that there is a link for the mods that maybe needed for a DDM.

Thanks.

I have this problem in WinXP, even BEFORE I added any mods.

If you have enough room install two TM's like I do.One is clean and the other is for mods and new maps.

do you suppose that compatability mode might help?

if you install 2 versions of tm as super mentioned , wouldn't you want to put them on seperate partitions ? seems at one time i had 2 different versions of the demo 1.1 and 1.6 and had crashes , that was on win98 . i'm now running winxp pro and all is well . my c drive is 32% free so i'm not adding anything more as i have d,e and f to use . i also run clean disc and defrag once a week , not a must but i like a tidy personal confuser , i like making windows use sdram memory instead of hdisk swapping , i've got 256mg and want to increase to 512mg soon . it's just so cheap now to add memory.....musings and odd ramblings by GTMK .... hehe .... fun .

another thing you can do is create an "online use" addons folder. to do this you install everything you want and can get ahold of into one folder then remove all the ent files. just let the server synch up your ent files for you. this way youll already have all the sounds/ models/ bmp's for everything and TM gets much less confused since it doesnt have to deal with the ent files that normally accompany a large addons folder.

then of course keep a 2nd addons folder there like normal for offline play.

its what i do (tho i have like 12 AddOns folders in there for various different things! lol )
