I need some help... My old Joystick broke while playing TM. Since I love playing TM I decided to invest in a little pricer Joystick and baught the MS Sidewinder Precision 2... TM will not reconize it? TM shows it on the list but when I click on it nothing... Game Controllers sees the Joystick and Testing shows it's working... It's a USB - My old Joystick was a Game port connection. Running Windows 2000...

Set the joystick's ID to 1 in Windows. Do this by:

Click Start/Settings/Control Panel. Double-click the Gaming Options icon. Now, assure that your joystick's Status is OK. If it is, then click the Controller IDs tab and assure that Microsoft Sidewinder is at ID 1. If it's not, force it to 1. You may have to set whatever device is at 1 to 9 or something temporarily before setting Sidewinder to 1.

In addition, there is a Sidewinder control panel that you can use to equate joystick movements to Keyboard equivalents. It is assessible via: Start/Programs/Microsoft Hardware/Game Controllers/Sidewinder Central.

Hope this helps, and good luck.
