when i try to install tread marks it says :
Tread Marks 1.5 has not been totally installed because of the following reason:

CRC error-cannot install the following file:
C:\Program Files\Tread Marks 1.5\art\fonts\font2-old.bmp
you will have to run this utility again to completely install Tread Marks.

Can some one help?!

Have you tried an uninstall, deleting any leftover files and directories, and then a fresh re-install?

If that doesn't help, I'll leave it to wiser minds on the BBS here for further troubleshooting. Someone here will be able to help you. They're good folks.

Check the disk for smudges or fingerprints...sounds like a disk read error to me.

If you d/l the demo to your hard drive, then the file may have errors, try to d/l it again

I have the same problem with my install disk. So I copy the file to the hard drive first then install from the hard drive. That way I don't get the crc error. My disk has a bad scratch on it. Don't know why I can copy it but not install it. Maybe the CDrom oversamples more when copying.

Try searching the CD for the file thats missing and try to run it off the CD.Or at least copy and paste it.

If you mean the BBS I mentioned in my post, this is it right here.

Have you tried everything that's been suggested so far?

Any other ideas, guys?

you can't copy the missing file directly from the cd since all you find is a whopping big install file, setup and the music files

I thought it might all be archived but I didn't have my CD handy to check. How is the data packed?Maybe he could use asomething like WinRar to open up some of the packed data and find what he is looking for.
