could you give us some more input concerning your computer setup please?

-CPU
-Graphics card
-operating system

would be the minimum.

He's asking about the two rendering options you're given on startup - OpenGL and Voodoo1/2 *retch* Neither apparently work on his machine.

$10 says he has an ATI card, Coax.

Actually this reminds me of something ive been meaning to ask...
is there any way to make the game run in direct 3D mode? 1st of all i know NOTHING about the different render methods and stuff, all i know is that i have a few programs and games on here that give you the option between GL and D3D and on those the D3D runs better.

from what little i know i assume that there is absolutely no way to make the current game run in a D3D mode but could there be plans for it in the future? not that that is a LDA directed question, but just in general is it a major difficulty to make the game able to run in D3D for future versions? just curious, TM still locks me up at times and i have to reset the comp...

i agree with peeet:

sorry, Onyx... ATI's drivers do not fully support opengl. TreadMarks will not run in 'hardware' mode, and 'software' mode isn't supported in the latest version of the game.

you might be able to use either the scitech or altogl "wrappers" mentioned in the posts above, but will not come close to hardware-accelerated gameplay.

if you can, upgrade your video card (i did - i used to have a rage-pro card). depending on how old your PC is, i'd recommend either a TNT-1 or TNT-2 based card. you can definitely upgrade for under $100.

good luck!
