I just received my V1.5 disc and have a V1.0 Installation of my PC with various mods (new tanks, weapons, etc.)
Do I need to uninstall V1.0 or can I install V1.5 over it?

Thanks

why don't you create a new folder and put TM 1.5 in there. That way you have 2 different versions you can play with.

Coax,
Thanks for your reply! Jim McNally suggested the same thing. I had thought this was an Update Disk we were getting if we already had purchased V1.0, so thought it would be expecting to find the old install and layer over it. I didn't want to chew up the extra space if I didn't have too! But I guess thats why we had large disks on our PCs.

Thanks again for the reply!

I think it might work if you
1) Install both versions in different directories
2) Take the 1.0 root directory without any subdirectories and the 1.5 root directory, without any subfolders again and copied them to two different folders
3) Whenever you want to play 1.0, copy the files from the temporary 1.0 root directory into the old TM 1.5 root folder
4) Whenever you want to play 1.5, copy the files from the temporary 1.5 folder into the original folder.

Just a guess - I don't think much has changed below the root dir. The CTF maps might give TM 1.0 some headaches, of course...

Dreamer - you could do all that with a dirs.cfg, and you wouldn't need to copy/move anything.

Kaeto,
Please explain what a dir.cfg is and how to set it up.
Thanks

Here's what you'd do :

Install 1.0
Copy all the files (but not the subfolders) to someplace else.
Install 1.5 over the original 1.0 install.
Patch up.
Make a file called "dirs.cfg" where you put the 1.0 files. Put this in it :

c:\path_to_tm\AddOns
c:\path_to_tm\art
c:\path_to_tm\entities
c:\path_to_tm\maps
c:\path_to_tm\objects
c:\path_to_tm\sound

That should do it. RC, did I miss anything?
