I was playing just fine this morning. Took a break and came back a few minutes ago, but now I time out while trying to connect to the Domino or Homelan servers. They all have pings under 250, and Domino only had 1 live player.

I tried restarting my dialup connection and TM as well. No effect.

Any thoughts? Anyone else esperiencng this?

I've had this problem when my ISP has a lot of static in the line. Try dropping your byte rate to mininum for the connection time then boosting it once you've successfully connect. I've found that often works to get arround a poor ISP connection.

Of course I'm assuming you have a poor ISP and its not another problem

It also happens if you have a _REALLY_ fast PC and the server is _REALLY_ slow.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I just rebooted our TM-ing PC, (I'm on my laptop now) and I'll go up and try again in a few minutes.

Never had this particular problem before, and you know I've had my share of problems. :-)

Sure hope this clears before the DM tonight!

Didn't have to play with the net rate.
Either my ISP settled down, or the reboot solved the problem.

But I'll keep those suggestions in mind should it happen again.

thanks.

My connection keeps dropping, too - I'm using ISDN, tho (still ). Interestingly, TM totally crashes my ISDN adapter after 1-15 minutes of play (It's a USB box and works fine with just about everything else, except for tuna sandwiches - it fancies flipper, I think)

Yes, game options, under Miscellaneous.

Interesting, I have a 640 DSL connection, and dropped the net rate to 6k or 8k (from 10k) and play seems to be smoother. I also installed a new video card, so maybe that has something to do with it.

If the server you're on is overloaded (bandwidth-wise), you and everyone else will get less lag if you drop your rate to 5.
