Topic: Name meanings

Well since no one asked...  My name simply comes from the prefix "neo", which means "new" (derived from the Greek word, "Neos" and the Latin, "Novus", which both mean "new"). When I first started playing TM (NGI Demo), I was um...terrible, and it was all pretty new to me, so I figured "Neo" was fitting. Plus, it was short, easy to remember, and had a cool ring to it. The name "Neo" was not initially intended to be a reference to "the Matrix". But seeing as the game has some obvious Matrix references, ("Dodge this," and "Congratulations, you're the one") I figured that being "Neo" couldn't hurt, but it's definitely not meant to be egotistical in any way. (Oh, and my little "Viva Neo" comments at the end of some NGI Demo DM matches are not an egotistical thing either. That is merely my way of teasing El Supremo, who routinely proclaims, "Viva El Supremo" upon victory.) IP: |

Mines just a simple name in here! I have a default user name for everything I sign up for so I dont forget  I'll probably call my self >Devilman< in TM coz I have the sign of the Devil in my family. 666, I was born on the 6th Feb, my brother was born on the 6th Aug and my Dad on the 6th June?!?!?! There is no deep meaning to my name - just duh.
I despise that show Ally McBeal, so I came up with the name Calista_TurdHeart in tribute to Calista Flockhart. I've been using that name for almost two years on Unreal Tournament, and imported it to TreadMarks. Matrix invited me into DNX a couple of weeks ago, so I decided to shorten it to "TurdHeart".I don't seem to play UT any more. TM is much better at easing the pain and frustration of the rat race. Thx to Neo I now know what neo means. But anyway, my name is part Japanese, Neo being latin for new and ki being Japanese for... well basicly the energy that the body gives of. Alot of people call it chi, but in Japanese chi is not energy and it's not Chinese, because in Chinese chi means gas: as in burping, and farting.

IRASCIBLE MEANS EASILY ANGERED... SO SCREW YOU!!! Ohh... sorry... I felt the spirit of Guido descending upon me . I actually learned about TM through an article at PCWorld's website. You can check it out at http://www.pcworld.com/features/article/0,aid,35462,00.asp BTW, I really appreciate the maturity of the regulars. I personally loathe game servers and chat rooms full of pubescent self-absorbed little barbs whose ability to produce expletive ridden chat will no doubt be the pinnacle of their worthless lives... but I'm not bitter . With all due (or not due?) respect for Guido, I sure as heck ain't him. I was just referencing an old thread I saw when I was "perusing through TM history" where his caps lock button was stuck and he got rather obnoxious. I was laughing my a** off at the absurdity of it all. I'll attempt to keep my humor more up to date.BTW, I just noticed how old the article is.
