Hrm. If LDA doesn't want to do it, I have a Static IP, and my Router box is up 24/7... Maybe I could scrounge up a HD and run an IRC server on it...

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!
that's shareware, my parents are much like your Hawk, cept my mom will let me buy something i know a lot about or i'm really really sure about. Problem is that my dad really forces her to work at a circuit board factory so he can get more money to spend (he dictates money, saying it's so that he can pay off debts n' stuff). IF i could somehow really get him in a clench, i could do it. OH, as a matter of fact, his jornada needs its software loaded in order to work, maybe i do have a way. Either case, i was lucky my mom supported Tread Marks, RIGHT before Christmas, so that my dad bought it for me, . He bought this computer on Christmas for his own self, though it seems for me and i really do rule it for most of the day, he sure does love it. Either way, when i ask for the money to buy a program that allows you to talk to other people, he won't buy it prolly. Got any more ideas? Oh, and yes, i have allowance money, but i can't use it without his permission. LOL, what kind of ALLOWANCE MONEY is THAT!!!!!!!! Eeeeeeesh, please tell me of a good free client, like what do you think about ViRC? I bet it is pretty good.

You still have Mozilla on that machine dudy? It has a built-in IRC client, IIRC

mIRC isn't shareware Dudy, do research before you speak :P

You're supposed to 'register' it, but nobody does, and there's no way for them to know you didn't. I've been using my copy of 5.61 for a year now :P

Ya, dudy. But honestly, I don't think you _COULD_ get owned. w9x isn't really "hackable" unless you get backorfice installed on your computer...

Don't worry, if you're not going crazy installing programs that you get from people on IRC you're fine - I know you're supposed to ask your parents/etc...

Undernet is pretty bad too... last time i went there (several months ago) they had about 16,000 channels with at LEAST 95% of them porn advertisement Bullsh!t.

Efnet has about as many channels but doesn't seem to be taken over by porn channels. My favorite is ETG.
