Well, i have to adress this problem finally, since no one else (i know who you are, grrrrr) has mentioned the horror of it. TM has a slight flaw in its selection of "music"...

NO POLKA Music!!!!!!!

Now, i know LDA is sincerely sorry, and we will have this fixed quickly, right? To further the explaination of this topic, many have discussed how to add music to TM. So that you too can have nukes moving to Beautiful Accordian music...

  • Download Winamp at www.winamp.com
  • With Winamp running, press ctrl+P and you'll be set to a little options screen.
  • On the left, you'll see the plug-in options, select output from under the word Plug-in.
  • Now, double-click the thingy called Nullsoft WMA
  • The instructions on what the settings should be are as follows, from the readme in the music folder of Tread Marks:
To add your own music to Tread Marks, just save the song
as a 44,100 hz, 8-bit, mono, WAVE file, and place it
in this directory. The game should automatically detect
and play the file. You can also remove any existing
music files you'd rather not hear in the random rotation,
or temporarily disable them by changing their file
extension to something other than .WAV. Speeds other
than 44/8 also work (such as 22,050 hz, 16-bit), but
currently the sound files MUST BE MONO!

Basically this means that you have to have this stuff mono and put it into the the music file of Tread Marks...

  • Now, if anyone would like to suggest what the kbps should be (btw, no one go and put the setting on 96kbps because you'll have one world of a file if it is bigger than two minutes long), we will have a lot better fragging...

BTW you should expirement to find the best kbps... sometimes these communists like Kaeto and Sardine don't know a lot, :-
of course, i'm the only person here who can be stupid and be good at it. I am a specialist you know......... :P

BOOOO, hehe, i dont decode any of my stuff i run Winamp and TM a the same time and i still get the same FPS and i listen to Metal and Rock...really brings out the game with big bass strums and stuff from RobZombie and other various bands...i do this for all my games makes me play better for some reson... in one of the reviews from a magizine they said the only things lacking was good music in the game and i have to agree the music that came with TM is -sorta- cool but strange techno that never goes any were in most cases its very distracting...and the whole worship TM thing it reminds me of RAP music when they keep saying there name in the song,,,uggghh well any ways,no offense LDA but let people use there own CD-Music or MP3s cause for 1 those waves are SOOO big and why just have em in mono? In songs from Rage Aginst the machine they use alot of effects with 2 channles...well sorry hehe kinda went off there ..

Communist? COMMUNIST? Look you little punk I'm a Socialist and don't you ever forget that, and if you do I'm going to take away your cookies!

(See if I was a Communist I'd take your cookies and share them with everyone else, but only after I shot your family and told everyone I gave a cookie to that they had to obey me from now on)

(As a Socialist I can take your cookies, but only have to give half of them to the government in hopes that eventually I'll get half of that back.) Damn, now that I think about it, Socialism isn't all that fun! LOL

Twink.

If a Communist has the cookies:

He says that if you help him rebel against the cookie baker, you will recieve all the cookies you want. However, once the cookie bakers have been run out of town, cookie production will reach a new low, so all able citizens will be drafted into the job of cookie production. All cookies produced will go into a central pot, from which all citizens can get cookies from whenever they need them. All citizens will get an equal amount of cookies according to their needs. However, the original leader will take many many more cookies than all the people making the cookies, inciting the people to rage. The cookie monopoly will be overthrown, and everyone is happy until it is noticed that, once again, there is a cookie shortage.

Cookie Baking in the U.S.:

One man will open up a small cookie restauraunt operating out of his garage. This man, hoping to get more money to make more cookies, approaches the head of a major cookie-producing corporation to ask about using his system of cookie production, which he claims is very stable and easy-to-use. He is turned down, and turns to a different major cookie corporation, I.C.M. (International Cookie Makers) who signs him on as a cookie producer. As time goes on, this company, Cookiesoft, goes on to become really frickin huge. Their cookie-producing methods are used world-wide, and almost everything is compatable with it. Their creator becomes rich, and his production system is the easiest to learn, if not the most stable, so even in-home users tend toward using the Cookiesoft cookie-making procedures. However, the Cookie Government decides that Cookiesoft has a monopoly on making cookies, which is against a hundred-year-old antitrust statute. Users of other cookie-making systems like Chipux and CookOS rejoice, but Cookiesoft fights back. However, it is a losing battle, and the Cookie Government orders Cookiesoft to be broken into two separate parts, the part that produces the actual cookie dough, and the part that produces the chocolate chips.

Sound familiar?

Except that MS did stuff like say "If you don't buy EVERYTHING we sell and nothing else, we won't sell you ANYTHING...

The story of the Cookiesoft antitrust lawsuit: The Cookie Government decides that Cookiesoft has a monopoly on cookie making, so they threaten Cookiesoft with huge lawsuits if they don't take out the step 'Cookie Explorer', which helps navigate the cookie-making processes. Cookiesoft creates a video showing how slow and unreliable the cookie-making process is without Cookie Explorer. However, the tape is revealed as a fake, and Cookiesoft makes an offer to remove Cookie Explorer from its prominent position, but to continue packaging Cookie 98 with it, but adding Cookiescape Communicator as a sidebar to everything else. By now, the Cookie Government is in a bloodlust and refuses. They will stop at nothing but to split them up into the two parts. This is where our story ends, and Cookiesoft may wind up moving to Canada. This will work out well for them, for they can jack up Cookie 98-00 prices as imports. Crud.
